FC Bayern München has announced the extension of contracts for its goalkeeper, Manuel Neuer, and his backup, Sven Ulreich. Both players will remain with the club until June 30, 2027.
During the announcement, Bayern’s executive board chairman, Jan-Christian Dreesen, praised the duo’s importance to the club. “Manuel Neuer has been one of the best transfers in our club’s history” Dreesen stated on Friday. He highlighted Neuer’s commitment, noting that the goalkeeper is entering his 16th season with the club-a testament, Dreesen said, to his exceptional value. Dreesen also praised Neuer’s continued development, noting that he “has pushed the boundaries of goalkeeping” and remains operating at a high level even at age 40. Meanwhile, he described Sven Ulreich as “reliability personified” calling the pair “one for the history books”.
Manuel Neuer also offered his thoughts on the decision, stating: “I took time to make this decision and I am very happy about it. All the conditions are right here: We can beat anyone with this team, and I come to Säbener Straße every day with enjoyment and bring my best performance”.
