In Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, voter turnout in the state election has been significantly higher by early afternoon compared to five years ago. According to the state election director, Christian Boden, 40.7 percent of the approximately 1.3 million eligible voters had cast their ballots by 2:00 PM. For comparison, the turnout at the same time in 2021 was 32.5 percent, while the final turnout in that election reached 70.8 percent. Boden reiterated his appeal to all eligible citizens, urging those who have not yet voted to do so by 6:00 PM. He stated, “Only those who vote have a say in the decision.” Polling stations remain open until 6:00 PM, after which initial forecasts are expected to be released.
