Regionalliga Underdog Jeddeloh Stuns Heidenheim 5-2 in DFB-Pokal Thriller

In the first round of the DFB Pokal, lower-league side Regionaliga team SSV Jeddeloh secured a significant 5-2 victory against 1. FC Heidenheim, kicking out the Bundesliga relegated club from the competition.

Heidenheim initially took the lead early in the match, with Yannik Wagner scoring from seven meters in the 12th minute after a dribble by Marvin Pieringer. However, the hosts quickly responded. Kamer Krasniqi equalized in the 14th minute, skillfully placing the ball into the far corner after Heidenheim failed to clear a long throw-in. Only 13 minutes later, in the 27th minute, Jeddeloh gained the advantage thanks to an own goal by Jan Schöppner. Haris Hyseni doubled the lead in the 29th minute with a powerful shot finding the corner.

During the second half, Heidenheim missed a chance to draw level when Budu Zivzivadze failed to convert a penalty in the 57th minute. Jeddeloh continued to build on their lead: Hyseni scored a penalty in the 70th minute, making the score 4-1. Tim Janßen scored the final goal for the fourth-division team in the 72nd minute, netting coolly past Heidenheim goalkeeper Frank Feller following a rapid counter-attack. Mikkel Kaufmann’s second goal for the visitors in the 89th minute was merely a consolation score.

In another fixture played simultaneously, Serie B contenders SpVgg Greuther Fürth lost 2-1 to VfL Bochum. Christian Rasmussen scored twice for Bochum in the 25th minute and the 64th minute, while Maxim Dal netted the lone goal for the home side in the 77th minute.
