The Prime Minister of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Manuela Schwesig (SPD), praised the decisions reached by the Coalition Committee. Speaking to the newspapers of the Funke Media Group, the SPD politician stated that it is positive that the federal government has agreed upon a “comprehensive reform package for greater growth and employment.”
Schwesig particularly supported the government’s tax reform proposals, noting the importance of easing the burden on small and medium-sized incomes while placing a strong emphasis on families. She also believes that financing the measures through an increase in taxes on the wealthy is sensible, insisting that top earners in society must contribute their share.
Furthermore, she noted that the package contains valuable proposals designed to stimulate the economy and secure jobs. These measures include the planned reduction of bureaucracy and the expansion of automatic approval procedures. However, it was revealed that Schwesig had previously voiced significant criticism regarding the government’s pension plans.
