Super E10 Prices Exceed Two Euros Again Amid Rising Oil Costs

Fuel costs have once again climbed, with the price of Super E10 exceeding the two-euro-per-liter mark. According to a recent analysis by the ADAC, the average national price for Super E10 currently stands at 2.008 euros per liter, marking an increase of 3.5 cents compared to the previous week. Diesel fuel saw a smaller increase, rising by 1.4 cents to average 1.997 euros per liter.

The ADAC noted that the benefits of recent energy tax reductions-which took effect on May 1st for a temporary period-have previously led to noticeable dips in fuel prices, with resulting fuel discounts now predominantly benefiting consumers. However, the primary driver for the recent price hike was the rising crude oil price, which jumped from approximately $105 to nearly $111 USD.

In consumer sentiment, the survey data shows that motorists remain wary of the industry’s pricing models. A majority of drivers expressed criticism of the “Austria model” a system that permits price increases only once daily at noon. Positive ratings for this regulation remained consistently low at about 20%, while as many as 50% of respondents rated the measure negatively. In response to the volatility, many drivers have begun adjusting their fueling habits, strategically filling their tanks before noon to manage the rising costs.
