The band Die Toten Hosen has reached the top of Germany’s official album charts with their thirteenth release, “Trink aus, wir müssen gehen!”. According to GfK, who released the report on Friday, this places them alongside BAP and Depeche Mode as artists with the most number one albums in chart history. Additionally, Campino and his bandmates achieved the strongest album debut since last October, marking the strongest debut for a national artist in four years.
Other high-ranking releases include Paul McCartney, whose album “The Boys Of Dungeon Lane” is listed at number two (and appears twice). Farid Bang’s “So muss man gehen” holds the third spot, followed by the Scottish duo Boards of Canada with their album “Inferno,” which ranks fourth. Ariana Grande’s “Dangerous Woman” re-enters the ranking at five, while Bruce Springsteen’s “Live From Asbury Park 2024” is found at seven.
In single charts, Helene Fischer’s new song “Heute Nacht” has generated the highest sales week in over two years domestically, leading the Official German Charts from its debut. This marks Fischer’s first chart-topping hit as a solo artist, following her previous joint appearance atop the charts with Shirin David for “Atemlos durch die Nacht.”
Ariana Grande’s lead single, “Hate That I Made You Love Me,” debuted at number four, behind Justin Bieber featuring Nicki Minaj (“Beauty And A Beat”) at two and Zara Larsson’s “Lush Life” at three. Shakira and Burna Boy’s official World Cup song, “Dai Dai,” has seen a major jump, climbing from position 50 to 22.
GfK Entertainment compiles the official German charts on behalf of the German Music Industry Association, covering 90 percent of all music sales.
