U.S. President Donald Trump sharply criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and demanded his removal. Speaking to journalists at the White House on Saturday, Trump stated that Ukraine should find a new head of state who is capable of signing agreements. The U.S. President claimed that Zelenskyy has had numerous opportunities to sign deals but failed to do so for unknown reasons. This statement came in retaliation to a previous criticism made by Zelenskyy regarding a diesel agreement reached between the United States and Russia.
The German text notes that Putin allegedly pledged to Trump, bypassing international sanctions, that Russia would supply more than 300,000 tons of diesel to global energy markets, with an additional 500,000 tons scheduled for November. The U.S. President currently faces significant domestic political pressure over the high worldwide fuel prices. Furthermore, he only recently secured commitments from the other G7 nations to pump gasoline from their respective national reserves onto the world market.
