Steffen Bilger, the First Parliamentary Coordinator of the Union faction (CDU), responded to the lawsuit filed by the Green politician Janosch Dahmen at the Federal Constitutional Court concerning the planned Bundestag resolution on the Statutory Health Insurance (GKV) reform. Speaking to the newspaper “Welt” (Thursday edition), Bilger stated, “We note the approach taken by the Greens.” He emphasized that the focus remains clearly on advancing what he described as “urgently necessary reforms” in the healthcare system, utilizing the GKV Contribution Stabilization Act to prevent the burden on insured individuals and companies from increasing further. Bilger also asserted that, contrary to claims made by opposition factions, there had been sufficient time to consider the law. He maintained that the reform content slated for final reading on Friday largely align with the recommendations of the Finance Commission for Health and had been public knowledge since March, following which the GKV law underwent an intensive parliamentary process.
