Voigt Mandates Stronger Human Oversight to Improve Quality of AI-Generated Content

Thuringian Minister-President Mario Voigt (CDU) has announced that he will adjust his approach to discussions concerning speeches generated by Artificial Intelligence. Speaking to Focus, the CDU politician stated, “We will combine the contemporary use of AI with improved human quality control.” Voigt emphasized that he has closely followed the ongoing debate and considers it serious, taking time recently to reflect on the appropriate way forward. He views our society as being in a genuine balancing process that is far from complete, and he considers this process crucial. At the same time, Voigt cautioned against Germany avoiding future technologies out of fear. “We must use them wisely and openly discuss the rules together,” the Minister-President asserted. When asked how a guest contribution in the FAZ could have slipped through, in which the AI had hallucinated quotes from experts, Voigt responded, “That should not have happened.”
