Rostock Traffic: Pileups Cause Highway Delays

Several traffic incidents caused significant disruption on highways surrounding Rostock over the weekend. Police reported a series of collisions affecting the A14, A20 and A24, leading to partial and complete road closures.

The A20, heading towards Szczecin (Stettin), experienced the most incidents. A collision between two cars occurred around 12:45 PM near the Neukloster exit, resulting in minor injuries to four individuals and an estimated property damage exceeding €50,000. Subsequent incidents on the same route, occurring at 2:00 PM (again near Neukloster), 2:51 PM at the Kröpelin junction, 4:00 PM near the Grevesmühlen exit and 7:00 PM near the Tessin exit – all eastbound – resulted in property damage only.

On the A14, two accidents were reported. One occurred around 1:30 PM near the Jesendorf exit in the direction of Wismar, attributed to wet road conditions. No injuries were sustained. A second incident occurred in almost the same location around 5:10 PM, resulting in a minor injury to the passenger.

Finally, on the A24 heading towards Hamburg, a truck left the roadway around 2:00 PM near the Hagenow exit. While property damage was reported, no injuries were sustained. Investigations into each incident resulted in temporary and full closures of affected highway sections.
