Recent data from the ADAC, Germany’s largest automobile club, indicates a decline in diesel prices across the country. The average price of a liter of diesel now stands at €1.605, a decrease of one cent compared to the previous week.
In contrast, gasoline prices remain stable. A liter of Super E10 continues to cost €1.668. This stability is notable given a significant drop in crude oil prices. Brent crude, which had been trading above $72 per barrel last week, has fallen by approximately $4 to around $68 per barrel. According to ADAC’s analysis, the decrease in oil prices typically warrants a corresponding reduction in gasoline prices as well.
Despite the diesel price reduction, ADAC suggests the current prices remain elevated. The relatively small difference of just 6.3 cents between the price of diesel and Super E10 indicates a potential overcharge for diesel fuel.
