At the kickoff of the 22nd Bundesliga round, Borussia Dortmund claimed a 4‑0 victory over 1. FSV Mainz 05, extending their current winning streak.
The hosts dominated from the start, delivering a dominant performance. Serhou Guirassy stood out, scoring two headed goals in the 10th and 42nd minutes, while Ryerson supplied all three of Dortmund’s goals. Maximilian Beier also found the net with a headed strike in the 15th minute.
Mainz struggled to penetrate Dortmund’s well‑organized defense. Although they had a few chances, the visitors could not get a goal past the German side. BVB keeper Kobel was on form, clearing all of Mainz’s dangerous shots. In the 84th minute, an own goal by dominance player Dominik Kohr sealed the final score.
The result pushed Dortmund up to a mere three points behind league leaders Bayern Munich after six consecutive wins, leaving Mainz in 14th place. Dortmund next face Atalanta Bergamo in Tuesday’s Champions League match, while Mainz will meet HSV on Friday.
