In the fourth round of the Champions League League Phase, Manchester City secured a 3-2 victory over RB Leipzig. Separately, Borussia Dortmund defeated Betis Sevilla 2-1 on Wednesday evening.
RB Leipzig dominated the first half, aggressively pressing the visitors and playing as the superior side during the initial thirty minutes. However, City scored first in the 37th minute when Castello Lukeba deflected a cross from Nico O’Reilly into his own net during a clearance attempt.
After the break, Ridle Baku equalized from a tight angle in the 49th minute. Enzo Fernandez doubled City’s lead in the 58th minute with a header. Just three minutes later, Antonio Nusa leveled the score at 2-2 with a left-footed shot in the 61st minute. Erling Haaland delivered the winning goal for City in the 78th minute, scoring close range after a cross from Elliot Anderson.
Meanwhile, in the Dortmund match, Fabio Silva opened the scoring for Dortmund in the 49th minute, only for Aitor Ruibal, who came on as a substitute, to equalize in the 67th minute. Konstantinos Karetsas scored the winning goal in the 72nd minute with a driven shot. Karetsas was substituted into the game in the first half, replacing the injured Serhou Guirassy.
