During the eighth matchday of the German Bundesliga, FC Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund ended in a 2-2 draw.
The first goal for Bayern came in the 38th minute, scored by Konrad Laimer. The attack started with a cross from BVB midfielder Felix Nmecha to Laimer, who subsequently played the ball to Michael Olise. Olise then fed Laimer with a diagonal pass. Laimer drove toward the Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel and, although his first shot hit the keeper’s foot, he managed to score on the second attempt into the unguarded net.
Serhou Guirassy leveled the score for BVB in the 60th minute. Harry Kane attempted to play the ball to Olise on the right side, but Dortmund defender Nico Schlotterbeck intervened and won possession. Schlotterbeck then passed to Carney Chukwuemeka, who set up Guirassy in the center. Guirassy fired the ball low into the left corner.
Bayern regained the lead in the 66th minute when Dayot Upamecano scored the second goal. Joshua Kimmich provided a chipped ball to Harry Kane, who played it across his body to Upamecano, allowing him to push the ball over the goal line from close range.
The visitors found an equalizer in the 89th minute, courtesy of Fabio Silva. After an initial corner kick provided no result, BVB pressed heavily in the opposing penalty area. BVB midfielder Joey Veerman delivered a cross from the left half to the center, causing a scramble in the FCB penalty box. After a duel between substituted BVB midfielder Konstantinos Karetsas and Aleksandar Pavlovic, the ball reached Silva. Silva curled the ball from a turn into the bottom left corner, making the final score 2-2.
Due to the draw, FC Bayern remains in first place in the table, benefiting from a superior goal difference, while Borussia Dortmund holds the second position.
