CDU Lead Narrows Ahead of Baden‑Württemberg Election as Greens Rise to 22% in Insa Poll

Two weeks before the state election in Baden-Württemberg on March 8, the Green Party is gaining ground in the poll conducted by Insa and narrowing the gap with the leading Christian Democratic Union (CDU). According to the survey published in the Tuesday edition of “Bild”, the Greens received 22 percent of the votes, just six percentage points behind the CDU, which captured 28 percent. Currently, 10 percent of voters intend to back the Social Democratic Party (SPD) and 20 percent favor the Alternative for Germany (AfD). The Free Democratic Party (FDP) holds 6 percent of voter support, giving them hope of re-entering the Stuttgart state parliament. The Left Party is supported by 7 percent of voters. The BSW garners 3 percent, and all other parties together account for 4 percent.

The data were collected from February 17 to February 23, with a total of 1,000 respondents surveyed online.
