Israel Escalates Air Attacks on Tehran, Iran Signals Vengeance

Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz said that Israeli forces have entered a new phase in their operations against Tehran. The first‑ever use of the Air Force’s aircraft in Operation “Roaring Lion” marks a powerful strike campaign against regime targets, with planes carrying munitions that are dropped directly over the objectives in a “stand‑in” operation over Tehran’s skies.

Previously, Israeli raids on Tehran had relied on stand‑off weapons fired from a distance, typically with smaller warheads. Now, according to Katz, Israel has achieved air superiority and has “opened the way to Tehran”.

At the same time, Iran’s president, Massud Peseschkian, declared that the killing of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei constitutes a “war declaration to Muslims, especially the Shi’a worldwide”. He said that seeking justice and vengeance is an obligation and legitimate right, and that this responsibility would be carried out with full determination.
