Israel Imposes Full West Bank Lockdown After Hebron Attack and Security Raids

Following a shooting attack near Hebron that resulted in five injuries, Israel has announced a complete lockdown of the West Bank. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Israel successfully thwarted a “major attack” after soldiers reportedly killed two suspected Palestinian assailants.

The incident left five people injured, including two severely, one moderately, and two lightly. These victims were transported to local hospitals. According to Israeli sources, a substantial amount of ammunition intended for a larger assault was recovered from the vehicle used by the suspected attackers.

In immediate response, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) placed the city of Hebron under lockdown and closed several surrounding villages. The IDF also sealed a nearby highway in both directions. The Israeli military reported that the two individuals allegedly involved in the attack were killed, and a search for any additional suspects is ongoing. Netanyahu also signaled plans for “extensive waves of arrests.”
