According to Klaus Müller, the head of the Federal Network Agency, the war with Iran will lead to higher gas prices in Germany. “Price effects are expected on world markets, and Germany will feel them as well-depending on how long the conflict lasts” Müller told the Sunday editions of the Funke media group’s newspapers. “Private households usually have long‑term contracts with price guarantees”.
However, Müller does not foresee any supply shortages. “Gas from the Persian Gulf plays only a manageable role in Germany’s supply” he said. “Gas supply in Germany is currently secure”.
