On the 25th matchday of the Bundesliga, RB Leipzig defeated FC Augsburg 2-1, turning a deficit into a victory.
In the first half, Leipzig dominated possession but struggled to create serious chances, while Augsburg made the most of their limited opportunities. After Keven Schlotterbeck had forced a penalty for Augsburg-which was saved by Leipzig’s keeper Vandevoort-Augsburg took the lead in the 39th minute when Robin Fellhauer finished a counter‑attack.
During the second half, Leipzig increased the pressure and pushed for a comeback. The Saxons had several promising opportunities but were repeatedly thwarted by Augsburg’s goalkeeper Dahmen. Finally, Diomande struck in the 76th minute, converting a pass from Harder to level the score. An own goal by Augsburg’s Arthur Chaves in the 92nd minute sealed the final result.
Other midweek results: Freiburg drew 3-3 with Leverkusen, Mainz drew 2-2 with Stuttgart, Heidenheim fell 2-4 to Hoffenheim, and Wolfsburg lost 1-2 to Hamburg.
