Germany’s DRV Forecasts Gulf Tourism Resurgence Post‑War, Emphasizing Safe Travel and Package Deals

Albin Loidl, the president of the German Travel Association (DRV), expects Gulf tourism to rebound after the war.

“Its still very volatile” – he told the “Rheinische Post” – “our priority is to bring guests still in the Gulf region home safely”. While security remains paramount, travel always finds its way back after a crisis. “The experience from past crises shows that tourism is a very resilient industry. When stability returns, so does the desire to travel”.

This summer, tourists leaned more heavily on package deals. “During uncertain times, Germans put their trust in reliability and safety when planning holidays” he explained. The all‑inclusive flight package saw a 14 % rise in revenue over the summer and attracted 12 % more guests than the previous year – a clear signal of demand.

For the summer of 2026, classic Mediterranean destinations such as Turkey, Spain and Greece continue to dominate the wish list.
