In the Israeli parliamentary elections, Benjamin Netanyahu’s party, Likud, may have emerged as the strongest force again. All three post-election polls cited show the Likud party leading. However, even with its allies, the Likud bloc is highly unlikely to obtain a parliamentary majority.
According to all the post-election surveys, the center-left alliance led by former General Gadi Eizenkot achieved slightly stronger results, although it also failed to secure more than half the seats in the Knesset.
This election was the first since the events of October 7, 2023, which profoundly changed the country and its society. Due to the subsequent war in Gaza, a wartime cabinet, which included opposition politicians, existed from October 2023 to June 2024.
