VfB Stuttgart ended the 26th round of the Bundesliga with a 1‑0 victory over RB Leipzig.
From the kickoff both sides played at high tempo, but the Swabians gradually increased their possession and control. Leipzig’s strongest chance for a lead came from Christoph Baumgartner, who attempted a lob from a promising position over the six‑yard box, but the ball went wide.
After the half‑time interval the visitors from Saxony again had the greatest opportunity. Stuttgart’s goalkeeper, Alexander Nübel, managed to divert a header from Nicolas Seiwald off the post, keeping the score level. Shortly thereafter, Deniz Undav took advantage of a mistake by Leipzig’s keeper Marten Vandevoordt-who had in the build‑up inadvertently passed the ball into Chris Führich’s feet-to score the sole goal of the match.
Stuttgart then held the advantage comfortably, with Leipzig’s attack proving effective but ultimately too mild to threaten the lead.
The win moves Stuttgart ahead of Leipzig in the table, while also tying them on points with third‑placed TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.
