Cem Özdemir, who won the Baden‑Württemberg state election as a Green Party candidate, has climbed to the position of the second most popular politician in Germany in the recent ranking by the Insa Institute. According to the “Bild” Tuesday edition, Özdemir earned 44.1 points, placing him directly behind Defence Minister Boris Pistorius (SPD). By doing so he pushed Bavarian Minister-President Markus Söder (CSU) to third place, while Jens Spahn (CDU), the chair of the Bundestag’s Union faction, remains in last position.
The ranking survey was conducted by Insa from March 13 to 16, polling 2,002 eligible voters. Participants were asked to rate each politician on a scale from 0 (very bad) to 10 (very good).
