Bundesgesundheitsministerin Nina Warken (CDU) welcomed the revisions to the controversial midwives’ assistance contract.
“I am pleased that the parties have reached an amendment to the midwives’ assistance agreement. This is good news and demonstrates the ability of self‑governance to act” Warken said in an interview with the “Rheinische Post” (Wednesday edition). She added that, through several discussions, she was convinced that both sides share an interest in sustainable solutions that promote quality maternity care.
“Thank you to everyone involved for their focused commitment, and thank you to all midwives for their dedicated work alongside women, children, and families” Warken concluded.
