The latest Insa poll, released in the Thursday edition of “Bild”, shows the CDU still holding a narrow lead just four days before the Rhineland‑Palatinate state election. According to the survey, the CDU can expect about 28 % of the vote-a full point higher than its September 2025 showing and roughly in line with its 2021 election performance.
The SPD has made a strong comeback, now standing at 27 % (+5 % from September). The Greens remain flat at 9 %. The AfD, while still gaining ground compared to 2021, slipped three points from the previous survey to 20 %. The Free Voters and the Left each hold about 5 %, putting them on the edge of gaining seats in the Landtag.
The poll was conducted online from 10 to 17 March, surveying a total of 1,000 respondents.
