Former FBI Director Robert Mueller Dies; Trump Expresses Relief

Former FBI director and later special counsel Robert Mueller has died. U.S. President Donald Trump announced the death of his long‑time rival on Saturday, expressing relief in a post on Truth Social. “It’s good. I’m glad he’s gone. He can’t hurt innocent people anymore” Trump wrote.

Mueller had led the FBI from 2001 to 2013. From May 2017 to March 2019 he served as special counsel investigating possible connections between President Trump’s campaign team and Russian officials and associated matters. According to the “New York Times”, Mueller passed away on Friday at the age of 81.
