Trump Questions U.S. NATO Membership, Considers Exit Over Iran War Stance.

U.S. President Donald Trump has once again questioned the country’s membership in NATO.
In an interview with the British paper “The Telegraph”, Trump said he was “seriously considering” an exit from the alliance because it had failed to support his war effort against Iran. He described NATO as a “paper tiger” and claimed that America’s withdrawal now “goes beyond a mere re‑evaluation”.

Tensions between the United States and its NATO partners have risen, especially after Secretary of State Marco Rubio called the organization a “one‑way street”. Rubio stated that the U.S. would need to reassess its membership after the war with Iran ends. “If NATO is only about defending Europe when it’s attacked but denies us base rights when we need them, that’s not a very good deal” Rubio told Fox News. “It’s hard to stay”. Trump backed Rubio’s comments. He plans to address the nation on Thursday night to explain the war effort.
