Trump Fires Justice Secretary Pam Bondi Over Epstein File Dispute

President Donald Trump apparently dismissed Attorney General Pam Bondi, according to U.S. media reports that appeared on Thursday. Bondi was said to have been informed of her dismissal on Wednesday, just before Trump delivered a speech about the Iran war. That same day she also appeared in a hearing before the Supreme Court regarding Trump’s request to abolish birthright citizenship in the United States.

Trump’s frustration with Bondi has reportedly increased over time. As Attorney General, Bondi was responsible for publishing the Epstein files, a move that Trump initially opposed.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that Lee Zeldin is being considered as Bondi’s successor. While serving as director of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Zeldin dismantled the agency’s research division, rolled back restrictions on per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, removed the EPA’s authority to act on climate‑related issues and pledged broad exemptions from environmental regulations for major oil companies.

Trump has also recently dismissed Kristi Noem from her position as Minister of Interior Security.
