Despite reports of a threatened supply halt for Kazakh crude oil through the Druschba pipeline, Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) currently does not see any danger to flight operations. According to a spokesperson for the airport authority speaking to the “Handelsblatt” (Thursday edition), “So far, the airlines have not canceled flights to BER due to kerosene shortages, nor have they announced any corresponding measures to us”. The spokesperson added that, regarding the situation related to the announced pipeline interruption, they have no further information. Furthermore, the speaker emphasized that BER has no direct influence on fuel logistics. The fuel storage facility at BER is operated by a private infrastructure company, which, according to its own statement, is “aware of no supply bottlenecks”. The responsible mineral oil companies and their contractual partners are in charge of delivery, storage, and further operational supply. Consequently, the BER spokesperson declined to make any predictions about the future supply situation or potential shortages following a possible pipeline outage, stating that this is the responsibility of the airlines and oil and gas corporations.
