Intelligence Agencies Fear Escalation of Attacks from Pro-Iran Terror Group in Europe

The German Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV) has expressed concern over a potential escalation in Europe involving the pro-Iranian group Hayi. According to the authority, Hayi’s warning has changed, moving beyond merely committing “simple” attacks and warning instead of long-term involvement in more dangerous methods.

The BfV suggests the potential transition may involve moving from property damage, such as arson, to attacks utilizing explosives or weapons. This heightened alert follows a series of documented incidents-including attacks on Jewish and American institutions across European countries, including Germany-that have occurred since March 9th. The BfV noted that the group designated “Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamiya” (Hayi) has publicly claimed responsibility for these acts, particularly the arson attacks, using videos as confirmation.

These incidents have reportedly taken place during the night or early morning hours and, so far, have not resulted in any casualties. The targets have primarily been institutions located in the Benelux countries and Great Britain. The Federal Office suspects that Hayi is backed by an Iraqi-Shia network. The BfV stated that the organization utilizes various channels within the Shia-extremist and pro-Iranian spheres across different social media platforms to report on its activities. Furthermore, Hayi has recently begun to clearly state its political motives for these actions, issuing open threats against Israeli institutions and what it describes as the “enemies of Islam” throughout Europe.
