According to a recent poll conducted by the opinion research institute Forsa, a significant majority of respondents-58 percent-report having limited their daily activities due to persistent price increases. However, 41 percent of participants stated that their spending behavior had not changed considerably. This survey, commissioned by the broadcasters RTL and ntv, revealed that young people under 30 and those with lower household incomes (under a net income of 2,500 euros) are particularly affected by cost pressures.
Those surveyed indicated that when they cut back, they often adjust several areas simultaneously. Reducing spending on dining out was reported by 76 percent of affected individuals. Furthermore, 69 percent reported cutting costs on new purchases, while an equal percentage also reduced spending on groceries and 65 percent cut back on fuel costs.
The curbing of expenses extends beyond essential goods. According to the findings, citizens are also limiting their consumption of energy, and scaling back plans for vacations and leisure activities. Specifically, 59 percent report saving energy, 57 percent are adjusting their travel plans, and 55 percent are reducing spending on recreational offerings.
The data for this Forsa survey was collected from 1,005 people on April 24th and 27th, conducted by the market and opinion research institute Forsa on behalf of RTL Deutschland.
