Model Gloria Burkandt, daughter of Bavarian Minister-President Markus Söder (CSU), views the meat-heavy Instagram selfies frequently posted by her father as purely public relations. Speaking on behalf of the “Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung” (Friday edition), the model stated that Söder does eat salad. “My father also eats salad. I observed him doing this just last week,” Burkandt shared, adding that while there was meat included, he enjoyed the salad.
Burkandt noted that Söder also consumes fruits and vegetables, even if he often presents himself in a manner suggesting that meat is his exclusive diet. “He isn’t that bad,” she commented. Furthermore, she explained that despite her own history of living a vegan lifestyle for many years, it was never a subject of conflict. While Söder enjoys “annoying vegans,” she believes this behavior is simply part of public relations. In private life, however, he fully accepts dietary differences, operating under the guiding principle: “live and let live.”
