Yasmin Fahimi, the Chairwoman of the German Trade Union Confederation (DGB), welcomed the government’s plan to discuss further reform measures with social partners. According to Fahimi, the DGB is ready for discussions, but is now waiting for a specific invitation and a defined agenda. This proposed reform package, which aims to cover taxes, the labor market, pensions, and bureaucratic simplification, was reportedly agreed upon by the leadership representatives of the coalition parties-the Union and the SPD-during the Committee for the Coalition on Tuesday evening. The goal is for the major social partners, including employers and unions, to reach an agreement on these points before the summer recess.
