Rayan Ghrieb has made the move from 1. FC Magdeburg to 1. FC Nürnberg, a transfer the Bavarian club confirmed on Friday.
Joti Chatzialexiou, the sporting director at Nürnberg, commented on the signing, stating that the club had been following Ghrieb’s progress for some time. He characterized the winger as having a “fascinating package” noting that Ghrieb’s strong abilities in one-on-one scenarios could significantly boost the offensive output of Nürnberg. Chatzialexiou expressed pleasure that Ghrieb had chosen to continue his career path in Nuremberg.
Ghrieb, who is 27 years old, also shared his perspective. He mentioned that he had previously followed 1. FC Nürnberg as a league competitor, including experiencing the atmosphere of Max-Morlock-Stadion during a recent direct match in late April. He is now looking forward to enjoying the ambiance as an FCN player and hopes to achieve many successes alongside the team and the fans.
The winger, who primarily operates on the right flank, made 30 official appearances for 1. FC Magdeburg during the last season, contributing six goals and four assists. Prior to his move into the German second division, the left-footed player, who holds French and Algerian heritage, played in the French second division. In the 2024/2025 season, he helped EA Guingamp achieve promotion/relegation in the run-up to Ligue 1, where he scored nine goals.
