US Strikes Iran Island in Retaliation After Drone and Missile Attacks

The United States has carried out new strikes targeting an Iranian island near the Strait of Hormuz. The US Central Command announced that these military actions were a direct response to attempted Iranian drone and missile attacks.

Reports indicate that three Iranian drones, which were allegedly targeting civilian vessels, were shot down. Furthermore, Iran is said to have launched ballistic missiles at US allies in the Persian Gulf region, but all of these missiles missed their intended targets. According to US sources, three missiles aimed at Bahrain were intercepted by air defense systems, while two others failed to reach their destination near Kuwait.

In response to these threats, US forces conducted “self-defense strikes” against a ground station located on the Iranian island of Qeschm.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps justified their actions, stating that their initial strikes were retaliation for a previous US attack. That earlier incident involved a tanker heading toward Iran, which was disabled by a rocket attack on its engine room. The Revolutionary Guard claimed they had targeted the headquarters of the US 5th Fleet in Bahrain, along with a ship belonging to the “American Zionist enemy”. However, the United States has officially refuted these claims, deeming them false.
