As the trading week began, the Dax index experienced losses. At the closing of Xetra trading, the index was recorded at 24,626 points, marking a decline of 0.2 percent compared to the previous trading day.
Several stocks managed to increase, including those of RWE, Rheinmetall, and Zalando. Conversely, shares in Heidelberg Materials and Deutsche Telekom suffered notable losses. The negative performance of the Bonn-based group is likely linked to recent reports regarding its potential merger with US subsidiary T-Mobile. Investors appear skeptical that such a transaction would successfully increase the company’s valuation.
In financial markets, the Euro strengthened on Monday afternoon, reaching a rate of $1.1424 per Euro. Consequently, the US Dollar was trading at 0.8754 Euros. Meanwhile, the price of gold fell significantly; a fine ounce was priced at $4,025 in the afternoon, a drop of 1.6 percent. This equates to a cost of 113.27 Euros per gram.
