Mbappé leads France to decisive 3-0 World Cup victory over Sweden

France secured a comfortable 3-0 victory over Sweden in the round of sixteen of the World Cup. The French side demonstrated strong attacking power from the outset, dominating the match.

Kylian Mbappé opened the scoring just before halftime in the 45th minute. Following a quick corner kick orchestrated by Michael Olise and a pass from Ousmane Dembélé, Mbappé powerfully headed the ball into the far corner, making it an impossible save for the Swedish keeper.

France maintained their momentum in the second half. Bradley Barcola increased the lead to 2-0 in the 53rd minute, capitalizing on a precise pass from Olise and calmly slotting the ball into the top right corner. The final goal arrived in the 74th minute when Mbappé delivered the decisive strike. After a brilliant assist from Olise, Mbappé skillfully evaded Swedish goalkeeper Jacob Zetterström to fire the ball into the far corner.

Although Sweden found some opportunities and created chances through Alexander Isak and Elliot Stroud, they were unable to penetrate the French defense. The Scandinavians missed several chances, especially in the first half, which might have made the contest more competitive. Meanwhile, the French team showed no signs of doubt regarding their superiority, cementing their status as title favorites.

In the next stage, France faces Paraguay, who defeated Germany, on Saturday in the round of sixteen. The eventual winner of that match will advance to the quarter-finals, where they will take on either Canada or Morocco.
