The Colombian team maintained a generally dominant performance, netting the decisive goal in the 14th minute, with Jhon Arias scoring after a pass from Luis Suarez. Despite creating numerous opportunities, the Colombians were unable to expand their lead during the match.
Ghana’s goalkeeper, Ati Zigi, deserves recognition for his several crucial saves, which prevented a heavier defeat. Conversely, Colombia’s Camilo Vargas faced no serious test throughout the game.
Following their victory, Colombia is set to face Switzerland in the World Cup Round of 16 in Vancouver on Tuesday at 22:00 Central European Time.
