Alexander Hoffmann, the CSU State Group Leader, has expressed concerns regarding potential difficulties surrounding the Commission established to reform the debt brake. Speaking to Focus, he clarified that the coalition agreement does not provide a guarantee that this commission will reach a uniform conclusion. Currently, several different proposals are under review, but they do not align with one another. Hoffmann noted that the coalition contract stipulates the formation of a commission tasked with modernizing the debt brake and determining how increased investment can be achieved sustainably. Furthermore, the agreement mandates that legislation based on the work of this commission must be completed by the end of 2025.
