US Launches Sustained Strikes Against Iran to Deter Maritime Threats Amid Regional Escalation

The US military has concluded its latest wave of attacks against Iran. According to a statement released by the US Central Command (Centcom), targets were struck in Bushehr, Chah Bahar, Jask, Konarak, Abu Musa, and Bandar Abbas. These strikes occurred on the third consecutive night.

Centcom reported that the purpose of the operations was to further diminish Iran’s capability to wage attacks against commercial maritime traffic. US forces utilized precision-guided munitions targeting Iranian coastal defense systems, as well as rocket and drone launch sites and maritime assets.

In response, Iran launched counterattacks, reportedly targeting US military installations in Bahrain. Furthermore, the Jordanian military announced that it successfully intercepted four rockets fired from Iran.
