Fuel prices across Germany have recently moved in divergent directions. According to a current analysis by the ADAC mobility club, the price for Super E10 saw a slight decline compared to the previous week, while the price of diesel continued to rise.
Nationally, the average cost for one liter of Super E10 is currently 2.128 euros, reflecting a decrease of 1.1 cents from last week. Conversely, the average price for a liter of diesel requires drivers to pay 2.204 euros, which is 1.4 cents higher than before.
The Brent crude oil price dropped by approximately five US dollars, settling at about 79 US dollars per barrel. The ADAC believes the reduction in gasoline prices is understandable given the decrease in crude oil costs, although this drop was smaller than anticipated. The club maintains that there is still potential for further price reductions, arguing that gasoline prices have remained excessively high for several weeks.
Meanwhile, the diesel price marked its sixth consecutive increase. The ADAC pointed out that a drop in the oil price does not automatically guarantee lower diesel prices, noting that other variables, such as high import dependence, also play a significant role.
