Silvia Breher, the Deputy Chairwoman of the CDU, insists that the next Federal President of Germany should be a woman. Speaking to Focus, she highlighted that in the current difficult era, marked by intensifying polarization and the growing influence of radical forces, the Federal Presidential Office needs a unifying counter-model. For Breher, this ideal person must be empathetic, possess a positive presence, and genuinely be able to connect with people. She argues that women are particularly well-equipped to combine these crucial qualities, stating that it is high time a woman with these characteristics takes the presidential role. Breher, who also serves as a Parliamentary State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, made the comments in the Thursday edition of the magazine.
