Hollywood is filming a star-studded movie about the sabotage attack on the Nord Stream pipelines. According to “Spiegel”, production has been underway in recent weeks to depict the explosions that took place in September 2022.
Adrien Brody, an Oscar winner known for “The Brutalist,” is reportedly playing the ringleader of the operation, while Oscar-winning superstar Sean Penn appears in a supporting role. The film is being directed by Doug Liman, who is known for action films such as “The Bourne Identity.”
For the shoot, the production team established a war-like atmosphere at the Hotel Esplanade in Zagreb last week. Sandbags were piled up in front of the entrance and windows, armored barriers lined the sidewalk, and men in camouflage waited on the corner, giving the impression of conflict-all for the benefit of the film.
The construction of the gas lines between Russia and Germany had been accompanied by numerous controversies. When three of the four pipelines blew up in 2022, many suspected Russia was responsible. However, it appears that a Ukrainian command, comprising soldiers and hired divers, was actually responsible.
One suspected member of the command has been apprehended and is currently held in custody in Hamburg. A second suspected member, the diver Volodymyr Sch., was arrested this week near the set in Croatia, and is believed to have advised the film crew.
