Said El Mala has confirmed his continued commitment to 1. FC Köln, as both the club and the striker announced on Thursday, just a few days before his 20th birthday. According to the details, the contract extension will remain in place until 2031. In a video message, El Mala stated, “Your number 13 is going, but your new number 10 will stay,” referencing the number that was previously worn by Lukas Podolski at the club. Prior to this announcement, Borussia Dortmund had expressed interest in the 19-year-old. Reports circulated regarding a transfer fee of around 50 million Euros, though the BVB reportedly deemed that figure too high.
