Nouripour Demands ‘Tangible Consequences’ as Germany Responds to Hybrid Threats

Omid Nouripour, the Green party’s Vice President of the Bundestag, has called on the Federal Government to respond to hybrid attacks with much greater resolve. According to Nouripour, as quoted in the “Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger”, a definitive reaction to attacks targeting Germany’s sovereignty-attacks that extend beyond just Leipzig-is long overdue. He insists that there must be “unambiguous stop signs,” and that this action must occur immediately, not at some indefinite future date.

He argues that the government needs to provide a clear answer, but not through purely retaliatory measures, like an ‘eye for an eye’ response. Instead, the reaction must include tangible consequences, such as deploying sanctions, halting the flow of money, freezing assets, and significantly increasing support for Ukraine.

Nouripour stressed that the message sent by Germany must be unmistakable: “We will not be intimidated.”
