On Monday morning, a major police operation was launched in the Südstadt district of Cologne. According to multiple media reports, unidentified individuals allegedly shot at a café located on Bonner Straße in the Südstadt. Evidence of the incident included multiple bullet holes discovered at the café, as well as the seizure of spent casings. Initially, it was unclear whether any injuries or fatalities had occurred. Police reported that Bonner Straße was closed going out of town from Chlodwigplatz. Furthermore, areas around Elsaßstraße, Zugweg, and Kurfürstenstraße were cordoned off due to the operation, and residents and drivers were urged to bypass the vicinity widely.
