IHK Warns: Political Stability Crucial for Saxony-Anhalt’s International Economic Standing

The Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) in Halle-Dessau has expressed concern regarding the international standing of Saxony-Anhalt. According to Thomas Brockmeier, the managing director, global openness constitutes a vital economic factor for the state of Saxony-Anhalt, he told Handelsblatt. He emphasized that the region must be a location where international investors, skilled professionals, and scientists are encouraged to invest, work, and reside. While Brockmeier declined to offer specific commentary on the potential economic impacts of a state government led by the AfD, he stressed that what is crucial, regardless of the election outcome, is that Saxony-Anhalt maintains stable and reliable political frameworks. Furthermore, he highlighted the necessity of forming a functional state government as rapidly as possible following the elections.
