Shakira and Burna Boy cemented their continued dominance on the official German single charts, claiming the top spot for the eleventh time this week with their track “Dai Dai,” according to GfK.
The top three were filled by Helene Fischer, whose song “An meiner Seite” landed at number two. Hugel, Imael Angel, and Ultra Nate (“Movin’ To The Sun”), which secured three spots, rounded out the podium. In other chart news, the band Wir sind Helden improved their highest ranking; “Von hier an blind” climbed from rank six to rank four.
The album charts saw Farin Urlaub regain the top position with “Ein Lächeln im Gesicht,” following the success of “Am Ende der Sonne” in 2005. The other medalists in the album category were Airbourne (“Airbourne,” two spots) and Accept (“Teutonic Titans 1976 – 2026,” three spots).
Meanwhile, the pop-rock project Chapter 7 made a direct jump to position four with “Tränenmeer.” The member of 01099, Paul, charted at number five with “Panzerglas Pop.”
GfK Entertainment, working on behalf of the German Music Industry Association, determines the official German charts, which account for 90 percent of all music sales.
