Federal Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil (SPD) has spent a total of €188,000 on services from external photographers and for cosmetic treatments since assuming office. This disclosure was made by Parliamentary State Secretary Dennis Rohde (SPD) following an inquiry from AfD Member of Parliament Hauke Finger, as reported by the portal “Tichys Einblick.”
According to the State Secretary, a significant portion of these costs relates to external photographers hired to feature the Minister and the SPD chairman in various presentations. In 2025 (from May 6), the Ministry of Finance incurred expenses of €78,436 for this purpose, and this year (up to September 24), the total has reached €86,599.
Regarding aesthetic services for the Minister’s makeup, spending last year totaled €9,078, compared to €13,578 spent so far this current year. The AfD MP Finger, who raised the inquiry, told “Tichys Einblick” that this situation is a classic example of hypocrisy, equating it to the concept of “preaching the gospel and drinking the wine.”
