Following the resignation of party leader Bärbel Bas, Sebastian Roloff, the head of Bayern-SPD, has criticized the behavior of the Union. According to Roloff, these attacks against Bas originated from the highest levels of the CDU, as he told the “Handelsblatt.” Roloff told the newspaper that for the coalition to be successful, the questions of collaboration must be redefined. He stressed that attacks within the government are unacceptable, especially given that the assaults against Bärbel Bas recently came from the very top of the CDU.
